Elizabeth Wilson 2017-18 EC Educator of Excellence

Elizabeth Wilson with EC Director Melissa Fitzgerald                         Elizabeth Wilson with classroom students and assistants
Congratulations to Elizabeth Wilson as our districts 17-18 EC Educator of Excellence.  She was presented with a small token of appreciation this morning but will go on to represent Alleghany County Schools during next months EC Conference in Greensboro where she will be honored at the state level.

Though only a third year teacher, Elizabeth’s dedication to her students and the profession is obvious. She faces many challenges each day, yet her love of the profession and her students is transparent through her smile and determination to ensure that her students’ needs are met. Elizabeth Wilson is an excellent educator!  She is a valuable leader in special education and I have no doubt that she will continue to represent excellence in the field.

During the nomination process her colleagues had a few kind words to say about her.....

"Elizabeth has made a strong effort to make adjustments to her classroom this year for her students - she painted her walls, added encouraging messages, changed the seating. And she has had many difficult situations arise with students and I have never seen her act with anything but professionalism and caring when dealing with them!"

"She has transformed her classroom by making positive changes. She loves her students and remains positive in spite of great obstacles."

Congratulations Mrs. Wilson!
