This is my first year teaching, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to spend this year teaching 2nd Grade at Glade Creek! I recently graduated from UNC Charlotte in May with a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education, and a minor in Children's Literature and Childhood Studies (Go Niners!!) I grew up in Durham, North Carolina, but I moved to Sparta with my parents in 2016, and have called it home ever since. 

I believe in educating the whole child, and in establishing and fostering a community within the classroom. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn, but their learning is dependent on what motivates them and interests them. I am looking forward to seeing growth this year, not only in the abilities of my students, but also in my ability to teach.

In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, eating, swimming, spending time with my family, and spoiling my cats. On Sundays I enjoy volunteering with my local church by  singing with the worship team and teaching Sunday School. I am so thankful to the staff at Glade Creek, and the wonderful community for helping me get settled in for my first year!
