The mission of the Alleghany County Schools English as a Second Language (ESL) Program is to prepare students to function successfully in classrooms where English is the language of instruction for all subject areas. Educators teach the English language to English learners so they can gain access to the standard course of study, graduate with a diploma and participate fully in American society.
