This is an update on the Alleghany County Schools Driver Education Program. The Drivers Education Program, which is part of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, is currently in the process of rolling out an online drivers education course. We are awaiting training for instructors and more information about the course rollout. At this time, no new classes are scheduled but when they are, information will be provided on our websites and via connect ed. Also, at this time, the behind the wheel component of drivers education is still on hold until we receive further guidance from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Again, when we are able to resume the behind the wheel component, information will be provided.
High School sports workouts are slated to start on July 6th. The first official day of practice for the fall is still August 1st. Please continue to check our website and social media pages as these dates may change as updates come from the governor.
